TheLewis University History Center’s“Reclaiming the Narrative: African American in Joliet’s Southend”banner exhibit will beon August 17 in Fairmont.
On June 22, the exhibit was at the Envision Fairmont: Updating the Fairmont Neighborhood Plan event at the Fairmont Community Center in Lockport, Ill.
Recent Lewis University Alumna Morgan Jennings represented the Lewis University History Center at the event. The former history and theology student answered questions and shared the stories Lewis University students discovered while researching the previously untold stories. Jennings also distributed “African American Voices from Joliet’s Southend” bookletscreated from the exhibit.
