Lewis University held Spring Commencement ceremonies for more than 1,000 students and bestowed an honorary degree May 20-21 on the university’s campus in Romeoville. Sunday’s ceremony was be the largest Commencement in the university’s history.

During the Graduate Degree Ceremony, master’s degrees were awarded to 282 men and women. Five doctoral degrees were awarded to candidates in the College of Education and the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

During the Undergraduate Degree Ceremony, more than 730 students were awarded bachelor’s degrees.

Lewis University awarded an honorary doctoral degree at its Undergraduate Degree Ceremony to Gery Short, retired director of the Office of Education for the Christian Brothers’ District of San Francisco New Orleans.
